Treat your little princesses to toast that's fit just for them! For big kids: have them measure out the ingredients and help spread the buttercream on the toast. For little kids: let them mix the ingredients for the buttercream and spread sprinkles on the toast.
--HOW TO MAKE BUTTERCREAM--
--Ingredients--
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
2 tablespoons milk
Food coloring
--STEP 1--
Cream room temperature butter with a hand mixer (the paddle attachment of a stand mixer, or a wooden spoon) until smooth and fluffy. Gradually beat in confectioners' sugar until fully incorporated. Beat in vanilla extract.
--STEP 2--
Pour in milk and beat for an additional 3-4 minutes.
--STEP 3--
Set aside 3 equal portions of the buttercream. Then add food colouring to one portion, beat for thirty seconds until smooth or until desired colour is reached.
--HOW TO MAKE PRINCESS TOAST--
--Ingredients for toast--
6 slices white bread, toasted
6 tablespoons seedless strawberry jam
Coloured buttercream frosting
6 tablespoons sprinkles
6 teaspoons silver or gold edible glitter (optional)
--STEP 2--
Spread jam over toast. Top with buttercream, sprinkles and edible glitter.
--STEP 3--
Leave toasts whole or cut into shapes.
