Your littles are in for a ton of fun over at La La Land where they can get busy with a host of activities. Blow off some steam over at the Playground that comes complete with slide, trampoline, ball pool, and mats. Your kiddies can also play with a range of educational toys and play dress-up. Your older kids will enjoy plopping down on a bean bag and getting lost in an electronic adventure in the PS4 area. Made up of different interactive galleries that combine 30+ hands-on activities, this awesome wonderland focuses on an open-ended and non-judgmental play for children through installations created by academics, artists, professors, and designers. Hands-on activities include making paper planes and launching them, making art and crafts, creating shapes that can float on a stream of air, and making cars with Lego.

Extremely unprofessional staff

This experience was deeply distressing and unacceptable, and I am documenting it clearly for accountability. This was not the first time it happened. The advertised weekend operating hours were stated as open until 12:00 midnight. We arrived at 9:30 PM, at which point staff initially refused entry for my child, stating they would be leaving at 10:00 PM. This directly contradicted the published timings. Since there were already other children inside, and my child was extremely excited, they eventually allowed him to enter. Approximately 30 minutes later, I received a call from the staff claiming that my child “wanted to go home.” I requested to speak to my child directly. When I asked him, he clearly stated that he did not want to go home and wanted to continue playing. Later, when I picked him up, my child told me that staff members repeatedly told him to go home, which explains the call I received. Speaking to a child this way — particularly in a facility designed for children — is entirely inappropriate and emotionally distressing. A children’s play area has a duty of care to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Repeatedly dismissing a child, especially when the facility was still within advertised operating hours, is unacceptable and reflects a serious lack of professionalism, training, and management oversight. As a parent, I found this behavior alarming. No child should be made to feel unwanted or pressured to leave a space that is marketed for their enjoyment. I strongly urge management to review staff conduct, communication protocols, and compliance with advertised operating hours.

Mirdif Uptown

The place is lovely and fun for kids, but I really hope more attention is given to safety — with clearer rules, better supervision, and regular cleaning of the toys.
