Overview of Safa Park

Ages: 0 - Adult

Safa Park's the kind of place Dubai residents end up going back to without really planning to, it's just there, right off Sheikh Zayed Road, easy to duck into for an hour or stay in all afternoon. It was actually the city's first public park, and it still feels like it: big open lawns, a small lake, a waterfall tucked into the greenery, and a proper view of the skyline that looks especially good around sunset.

There's enough here to keep most ages busy. Kids have a couple of playgrounds and plenty of room to just run. If you're more the active type, there's a basketball court, a tennis court, a running track, and open lawns that turn into casual football pitches most evenings. Bring a bike or rent one at the gate, the paths are shaded and flat enough for an easy ride around.

Hungry or forgot something? There are small refreshment stalls inside, and if you need more than snacks, there's a supermarket right across the road from Gate 2.

It's not flashy, and it doesn't try to be it's just a solid, reliable spot for a picnic, a walk, or a quiet hour away from the traffic outside its gates.

Entry: AED 3 per person. Kids under 2 and People of Determination get in free.

Inside the park: Bike rentals are available near the gates if you want to explore further than you'd want to walk. The sports courts are generally free to use, though it's worth checking if any need advance booking during busy hours.

Getting there: The park sits on Sheikh Zayed Road between Al Wasl Road and Al Hadiqa Road. The nearest metro is Business Bay on the Red Line, though it's a fair walk (around 20-30 minutes) or a short taxi ride from there. If you're driving, Gate 2 tends to be the most convenient for parking and has that supermarket right across the road.
