Turning Pointe offers all styles of dance classes to children from the ages of 3 years to 18 years. Established in 1996, it is the largest dance school in the UAE and prides itself on excellent teachers as well as offering a professional level of dance education to all its students. Turning Pointe covers the RAD Ballet Exams as well as fun classes in Hip Hop, Contemporary, Fusion and Progressive Ballet technique. All students are given several options to perform on stage in professional shows as well as attend their regular dance classes. Turning Pointe welcomes both the student who works towards a professional career in dance as well as those who dance purely for the joy of it and the benefits it brings to everyday life. The training the students receive at Turning Pointe produces self-confident and educated dancers, by focusing on their individual development. Turning Pointe inspires girls and boys to use movement to express themselves alongside developing strength, co-ordination, musicality and an appreciation for the beautiful art form. HIP HOP Turning Pointe's Hip Hop classes give students the opportunity to learn the foundations of locking, popping and commercial dance. These are fun classes, open to girls and boys, with students working towards their yearly hip hop showcase “Dance Dynamix”. CONTEMPORARY This class aims to develop the students’ technique and flexibility in the first section of class before moving through a creative section where emotions will be conveyed through movement exercises and ending with a contemporary choreographed routine. FUSION Fusion is a fun rhythmical class combining all aspects of dance for 4 – 6 year olds. Students will be taught in a relaxed environment developing, rhythm, musicality and good posture whilst learning the basics of ballet, hip hop and tap dance. MODERN If your child is looking for a career in dance or theatre, this is the place to start. This is a relaxed dance style with free flowing movements and an interpretative style. Turning Pointe follows the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabus, working towards an annual examination. TAP Tap uses shoes with metal plates, in which you perform the art of percussion with the feet. Tap focuses on musicality and rhythm, following the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD) syllabus, with students working towards an annual examination. **Classes are offered daily.
