This experience does not include direct interaction or a meet-and-greet with the penguins. ------ FACILITIES ------   AQUARIUM TANK The 10-million litre Dubai Aquarium tank, located on the Ground Level of The Dubai Mall, is one of the largest suspended aquariums in the world. It houses thousands of aquatic animals, comprising over 140 species, including sharks, rays, giant groupers and much much more.There are numerous ways for visitors to experience the main Aquarium tank, which measures 51 metres in length, 20 metres in width and 11 metres in height. AQUARIUM TUNNEL Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo recreates this fascinating environment in near-perfect detail and gives you the opportunity to walk right through it. Located on the Ground Floor of The Dubai Mall, the 48-metre long Aquarium tunnel takes you 11 metres under the surface   UNDERWATER ZOO Continue your journey at Underwater Zoo and learn more about what amazing creatures inhabit both our rivers and oceans. Located on Level Two above the Aquarium tank, Underwater Zoo leads you through three ecological Zones; Rainforest, Rocky Shore and Living Ocean. Watch out for these aquatic creatures at Underwater Zoo: Otters, Piranha, Humbolt Penguins, African Dwarf Crocodiles, Lionfish, Giant Spider Crabs, Seahorses, Garden Eels, Archerfish, Arapaima, Water Rats, Paddlefish, Cichlids, Nautilus and many more amazing aquatic animals in 40 individual aquatic displays. PENGUIN COVE Penguin Cove is home to 16 Gentoo penguins, 8 males and 8 females. Guests can step into a dedicated viewing tunnel where penguins swim gracefully around them, offering an up-close and memorable observation experience. While it feels immersive and exciting, this experience is for viewing only and does not include physical interaction with the penguins. ROCKY SHORE This is where the land meets the sea, a rugged, harsh environment where only the tough survive. AT Rocky Shore, view several Giant Spider Crabs. If you don't mind getting your hands wet, you can also reach out and touch some of the more hardy rock pool inhabitants. RAINFOREST Imagine walking along the banks of a pristine river bed surrounded by some of the most incredible freshwater animals alive. Dangerous Piranha, Giant Catfish, playful Otters and Water Rats are just some of the animals you'll meet here. ------ BENEFITS OF GOING ------   Visiting the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, one of the largest suspended aquariums in the world, gives you a taste of marine life like nothing you've ever experienced before. Their 48-metre walk-through Tunnel provides 270-degree views from 11 metres below the surface of the tank. You can also go on a Glass-bottom boat ride, giving you and your family unique views of the tank from beneath your feet. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even take a dip in the tank, or opt for a Cage Snorkeling Experience. Shark lovers can also experience a Shark Dive. Their junior and senior aquarist programs will give them a fascinating glimpse behind-the-scenes at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo.   ------ KNOW BEFORE YOU GO ------   Average Time Spent The average time to visit the Aquarium Tunnel is approximately 15 to 30 minutes. Underwater Zoo located on Level 2 takes approximately 45mins – 1.5 hours. This time could increase should you wish to stay and watch presentations/shows. The Glass Bottom Boat ride lasts approximately 15 – 20 mins experience. Guests are encouraged to book their Boat Ride before their journey to avoid a long waiting period, and bookings can be made at the entrance of the Glass Bottom Boat ride area on Level 2 at Underwater Zoo.
