Canada's Cold War Museum, also known as the Diefenbunker, offers a variety of activities and exhibits designed to engage and educate kids about the Cold War in a fun and interactive way. ------- HIGHLIGHTS ------- - Interactive Tours: The museum offers guided tours specifically tailored for children. These tours are designed to be engaging and informative, with guides explaining complex historical concepts in a way that kids can understand. The tours often include stories and anecdotes that bring the history of the Cold War to life. - Spy Camp: One of the most popular programs for kids is the Spy Camp. This camp allows children to experience what it might have been like to be a spy during the Cold War. They participate in activities like code-breaking, scavenger hunts, and secret missions throughout the bunker. This immersive experience teaches them about history and the importance of teamwork and problem-solving. - Escape Room: The museum also features a kid-friendly escape room called "The Cold War Bunker Escape." In this game, children (with their families or groups) must work together to solve puzzles and find clues to "escape" from a simulated Cold War scenario. It’s a great way for kids to engage with history in a fun, hands-on way. - Hands-On Exhibits: Throughout the bunker, there are several hands-on exhibits where kids can interact with historical objects and learn through doing. For example, they can try out old communication devices, explore a fallout shelter, or see how food is stored and prepared in a bunker. Special Events: Throughout the year, the museum hosts special events geared towards families and children, such as Halloween in the Haunted Bunker, where kids can explore the bunker in a spooky, yet safe, environment. --------- BIRTHDAY PARTIES --------- - Come celebrate your child’s birthday at the Diefenbunker!
