Lakeview Village

The Discovery Centre is an iconic landmark on the site of Lakeview Village. Part community space, artist hub, and centre for sales, the Discovery Centre is a central gathering place and community destination for residents and visitors set against a backdrop of walkable trails and the waterfront. ------- HIGHLIGHTS ------- - Beginning in 2019, they planted one million sunflowers near the award-winning Discovery Centre. What started as an opportunity to connect people from across Mississauga and the GTA with butterflies and bees through a highly immersive and natural experience, has expanded to include recreational opportunities that showcase the beauty of life by the lake. - A sunflower deck set against the backdrop of our floral field, for hosting community events like Sunsets & Sounds, which highlights the talent of local artists. - Repurposed the 1,600 feet of artist-driven hoarding that surrounded the Discovery Centre and created an artist trail that will take individuals from the sales centre into opportunities to explore art outdoors on the site. - Chairs and benches – crafted by local sawmiller Sawmill Sid who re-purposes wood into beautiful creations. - Recreation field that’s open for community use, where pick-up games of soccer can be played with friends while families enjoy a picnic.
