It has been some very long months for families in the capital as most family entertainment venues have been closed since the lockdown in March. Needless to say that moms, dads and kids were jumping for joy when things started opening up over the weekend.
But before you and your littles race to the front door, check out our round-up of great family venues in Abu Dhabi that have now reopened from soft play areas for the tinies to action parks for your youngsters.
Blow Off Some Steam
1. Air Maniax Abu Dhabi
Discover pure adrenaline-fuelled excitement at Air Maniax Abu Dhabi for your tiny little ones all the way up to adults, everyone is sure to have a blast in their interactive zones.

With over 80 wall-to-wall interconnected trampolines, let your little ones loose and watch as they bounce, flip and slam dunk their way through the centre, take part in wall-running or enjoy the warfare of dodgeball. 4. Khalifa International Bowling Centre

A great way to entertain your kids is to take them to Xtreme Zone at Abu Dhabi Mall. Your boys and girls can blow off some steam in the trampoline park and also learn and try active climbing which is a lot of fun and a great way to get your kids moving about.

6. Orange Wheels
Calling all parents and tots: Orange Wheels is your one-stop-shop for everything play and edutainment! At Orange Wheels you’ve got your soft-play, role-play, arts and crafts, and even water play; but you’ve also got an organic cafe where moms and dads can grab a bite or cup of coffee while the kiddos play in full-view, and under the watch of qualified caregivers.
Capacity is currently at 50% and you need to book in advance. Each session is 90min and cleaning will take place before the next session
Orange Wheels is also open in Al Raha Mall.
Build your child’s confidence through physically challenging, artistically enriching, and intellectually stimulating activities at Caboodle. The safe and friendly indoor play area offers a variety of activities, from dress-up to arts and crafts, to free play.
The colourful and exciting play ground also serves as pampering center for your little ones, offering tear-free haircuts, hair styling, makeup and face painting too.
The venue will be closed daily from 2-3pm while they disinfect all surfaces, floors and air purifiers.
8. Happynest Playhouse
Ignite your child’s imagination and drive them to explore as they climb up the gigantic ‘nest’, slide down the tube slide, discover their senses in the projection area and touch & play-modules, dive into the baby ball pit, take a break in the cushioned reading nook, get creative in the arts & crafts room or whip up a pretend gourmet meal in the children’s kitchen.
There’s also a treehouse where your little girls can dress up and pretend to go shopping, or they can join the boys as they use construction materials and pretend to be builders.
9. Emirates Park Zoo
Housing hippos, flamingos, reptiles, and over 1,400 wild animals and pets, this Zoo and resort is a perfect way to spend the day as a family. Get up close and personal with the animals and discover all the different species.

Your tinies and tots (up to 6 years old) will feel right at home at Cartoon Junction, which combines rides and soft-play areas for when the kids are bored of queueing or just need to run around. Put on your 3D glasses with your 4-15 year old’s, and dive into the interactive video game, Ani-Mayhem.

Try Something Different
19. Kayaking at the Museum
Get a different view of the Louvre Museum from kayaks on the still Arabian Sea. Take your family on a kayak tour and learn about Louvre Abu Dhabi’s architecture from a different perspective.
No prior experience is necessary. Tours last 60 minutes. Guests will be accompanied by professional instructors and given a safety and paddle briefing prior to the tour.
Children between 6-12 must be accompanied by an adult.
20. Zayed Sports City Ice Rink
Head out with your boys and girls to this Olympic-sized ice rink and have a go at showing off your moves on ice!
The venue currently only allows people ages 12-60 years to enter.
