We are only a week out from school start which means we’ve got just 7 days left to pack in some summer adventure with our boys and girls. So whether you want to soak in some fun under the sun, join engaging storytelling sessions, or even explore mind-bending mazes and 3D art, these are our picks of fun things to do before summer ends.
1. A-MAZE-ING Summer at BurJuman
Stay cool this summer as BurJuman brings the outdoors indoor with an “A-MAZE-ING” Dubai Summer Surprises extravaganza for the whole family (with strict social distancing and safety protocols in place).
Navigate through a life-size, 18-metre-long MAZE filled with picture-perfect opportunities; explore the Insta-worthy photo-op stations spread across the mall or treat yourself with the diverse F&B offerings.
2. IMG Worlds of Adventure
Explore four Adventure Zones offering over 20 rollercoasters and attractions at this huge indoor theme park. 3. Storytime Magic with Magic Phil
Celebrate summer for little ones with lots of laughs and join UAE’s favourite entertainment and radio star, Magic Phil, for a live story time show. Your kiddies will get a chance to meet all of his magical characters, enjoy songs, magic and non-stop interaction.
4. LEGO Brick Safari
Get up close and personal for a roaring time with 12 animals, made with more than 500,000 LEGO bricks and weighing up to a ton each. The menagerie’s largest exhibit is a four metre long, three metre tall woolly mammoth, which took 672 hours to build. Weighing in at one ton, the mammoth stands alongside a tiger, camel, turtle, elephant, sabre tooth tiger, baby elephant, ape, monkey, crocodile and snake.

La Perle is one-of-kind theatrical experience created and produced by the famous artistic director Franco Dragone. The theatre itself is an enormous playground, and one can expect to see a cast of 65 artists acting, dancing and indulging in gravity-defying stunts, both on the ground and in water. With La Perle being a permanent fixture in Al Habtoor City, this is one show not to be missed.
As part of DSS, you can watch daily shows of La Perle, at 6pm and 9pm, with tickets starting from just Dhs169 per person, including a free popcorn and soft drink. All seating will be allocated by La Perle to ensure social distancing requirements are adhered to.
8. Kids Eat FREE at PizzaExpress
If you’re planning to eat out with the family this week, then head over to Pizza Express where your kiddies eat free throughout August, when accompanied by an adult purchasing a main course.

9. The Green Planet
Take your family to spend the day making new friends in a tropical forest full of exotic flora and fauna. For the curious, adventurous, young, and old, The Green Planet offers a first-hand encounter with some of nature’s wonders.
To make your experience even more special, you can also go behind the scenes or face your biggest fears as you experience a range of close encounters with exotic birds, reptiles, bugs, sloths, or even sugar gliders. You can also go for the Meet & Greet experiences, which allows small groups (of very brave people) the chance to hold and take pictures with The Green Planet’s slithery snakes or scaly lizards.

11. Dubai Canvas at City Walk
This summer, City Walk transforms into a giant canvas for all to enjoy. For an entire month on Fridays and Saturdays, you and your kiddies can experience a journey across contemporary art featuring international 3D artist, Juandrés Vera, and other local artists, as part of an immersive art exhibition.
Spanish 3D artist and Guinness World Record holder, Juandrés Vera, will bring to City Walk a blend of street art, with his trademark style of creating wonderfully immersive aesthetics and realism. He is set to showcase his amazing anamorphic (3D) murals that thrill the senses and make visitors feel they can actually walk into the image.
Immerse yourselves in more art as you watch local artists create live art experiences as part of a mesmerising pendulum painting performance. Combining elements of both science and art, the Spirograph inspired project exchanges a paint brush for a swinging pendulum and is guaranteed to make for an enjoyable artistic spectacle.
What’s more, families can tap their feet to live music performances and enjoy typical street-side mime performances.
12. Play Sports at Dubai Sports World
From football pitches to tennis courts and cricket nets, this is where all your favourite sporting action is brought to life under one roof. Connect with friends and colleagues over a game of your choice. Ready, set, play!
13. Laguna Waterpark
Laguna waterpark is packed with thrilling attractions for everyone in your family; from your toddlers all the way to the mommies and daddies. Aimed at the younger crowd, there’s a splash pad, a lazy river with surprises along the way, and an infinity pool overlooking the stunning La Mer view. For the lovers of extreme sports, try out the WaveOz 180 FlowRider – it’s the first 180° wave in the region.

14. Once Upon A Time Storytelling Session with Miss Emma

During the 45 minute interactive workshop, your kids will explore a range of different themes, characters, language and communication skills based around a well-known children’s book.
15. The Lost Chambers Aquarium
An otherworldly experience for your whole family, this underwater aquarium has 10 chambers of wildlife and over 20 exhibits to explore. Sharks, stingray, piranhas, and seahorses are just some of the creatures you’ll come face-to-face within this underwater world designed around the Lost City of Atlantis.

Get your adrenaline pumping at this indoor theme park with its six immersive lands, catering to all ages.
Your tinies and tots (up to 6 years old) will feel right at home at Cartoon Junction, which combines rides and soft-play areas for when the kids are bored of queueing or just need to run around. Put on your 3D glasses with your 4-15 year old’s, and dive into the interactive video game, Ani-Mayhem.
Don’t miss the flagship ride, Scooby-Doo! The Museum of Mysteries, for a little bit of spine-chilling fear. Or, if you’re after the bigger rides, head to Dynamite Gulch and Bedrock where you’ll find roller coasters and endless other attractions

19. Day Pass at Al Maya Island & Resort
Go on a fun-filled family adventure to the secluded Maya Island & Resort. Spend the day in the water on Saturdays, and make use of all of the hotel’s facilities. Day passes are inclusive of shuttle boat transportation.
On Fri-Sun, opt for the Family Pass which gives you access for 2 adults and up to 3 children (under 13yrs). The pass is AED 495 and you’ll get back AED 350 in food and beverage credit.
