1. Sharjah Aquarium

2. Sharjah Science Museum

4. Al Montazah Amusement and Water Park

One of the very first adventure parks in the UAE, Al Montazah Parks have two exciting parks within its walls – Pearls Kingdom and Island of Legends. There's something in store for everyone, including exciting water rides and time travel to name just a few.

Pearls Kingdom is equipped with 35 slides which will transport your little ones to a magical wonderland with mystical powers; a wise king and his beloved daughter, Princess Pearl; the secrets of the pearl of knowledge; and adventurous sea creatures.

The Island of Legends, with its 26 attractions, will take you back in time to experience a magical a time-travel journey across nine countries, that are delightfully displayed through fairy tales, stories and iconic inventions from these countries.

5. Al Madam Ghost Village

Take a trip to the abandoned village in Al Madam. See if the rumours are true for yourself that an evil force was supposedly responsible for driving the residents away. Alongside the unwelcome sand storms and fierce winds that are slowly swallowing the abandoned place. Better yet, forget the creepy rumours and enjoy the massive outdoor spaces that are the perfect opportunity for 4×4 drifting and sand-duning.

The place is deliciously eerie and a perfect place to hand your older kids a camera and let them snap away.

Although the history of Al Madam is quite vague, one thing that’s for certain is that the abandoned buildings have laid for over a decade, consisting of a handful of beautiful houses that were constructed between the 1970s and 1980s. Also, the noticeably impressive mosque that overlooks the entire town gives the town a unique feel.

6. Al Majaz Waterfront

Located in the heart of Sharjah, Al Majaz Waterfront is a family-favourite destination overlooking the Khaled Lagoon. Attractions include the spectacular Sharjah Musical Fountain, boat rides, international restaurants and cafés, a jogging track, snack and drink kiosks, a mosque, the Maraya Art Park, the Splash Park for kids with a children's playground, mini golf for all ages, and wonderful greeneries.

7. Sharjah Planetarium

Make your way to Sharjah's Planetarium, the gateway into the deepest secrets of the universe and the brightest views of the sky. Take a journey through the cosmos with a picture of the sky blanketing you above your head inside the sun-shaped dome. The Planetarium's advanced digital projectors will take you through our impressive solar system, and will give you insight into topics like astronauts, black holes, stars, super volcanoes, undiscovered worlds and much much more.

8. Mleiha

Visit Mleiha for an adventure deep into the deserts of Sharjah where you can uncover the secrets of the region’s ancient Bedouin culture. At this archaeological center, your entire family can learn about life in the region in years gone by as well as take a closer look at the wide variety of artifacts on display. Mleiha is not just about archaeology, in fact, you can find a variety of unique and fascinating species of mammals, reptiles, insects, plants and desert succulents that are not easily found elsewhere.

9. Sharjah Fort (Al Hisn)

Step inside this historic landmark to learn about the modern history of Sharjah, the ruling family, the history of the fort, the historic defense strategies and Sharjah’s life 196 years ago.

Exploring the rooms of the fort, you can enjoy the large collection of photographs and archaeological artifacts, learn about the first jurisdiction system adopted in Sharjah in Al Muhalwasa jail, and learn how “dibs” (date syrup) was made in the past. Here, you can also discover the weapons and defense strategies used by the Sheikhs and their guards, as well as the lifestyle of the ruling family.

10. Rain Room

Walk in the rain without getting wet! The Rain Room, a part of Sharjah Art Foundation, is a unique art installation that uses recycled water, providing a continuous stream of rainfall. With special trigger motion sensors, the room detects movements and pauses the rain wherever you are. A fun experience for the whole family with plenty of photo-snapping moments.

You can buy tickets at the venue or book online to choose a specific time-slot in advance. Book in advance if you're heading there on busy days.

11. Children's Farm

Teach your kids about local Emirati domesticated animals as they get interactive with the camels, sheep, horses, ducks, donkeys and much more. The farm is split up into an indoor and an outdoor section, each with a specific focus.

The indoor section organizes educational and environmental programs, as well as giving workshops and awareness-raising activities. The outdoor section is where all the domestic animals live, and where little visitors can interact with them up-close and even feed them their favourite foods.

Your ticket also includes a visit to the Arabia’s Wildlife Centre, Natural History & Botanical Museum and Islamic Botanical Garden.

14. Sharjah Maritime Museum

15. Sharjah Paintball Park

Let your youngsters earn bragging rights by giving victory a shot - literally. The choice of multiple fields (indoor and outdoor) such as the WarZone or Orient field will have your youngsters thrilled as they play a game of dodge and shoot.

16. Sharjah Classic Cars Museum

Put your toy cars aside and explore this one of a kind museum that displays more than 100 classic cars manufactured in the early 20th century. Learn about the automotive industry history through a wide range of classic cars collection showcased under one roof.

17. Fossil Rock, Sharjah

Dune bashing, buggying, camping are just some of the adventorous and immensely fun activities that you can enjoy at Fossil Rock, Sharjah. It is just an hour away from Dubai and it's beautiful to see.

You can set up camp and light a fire after you get tired of all the fun. There is also a huge red dune there that will be great for buggying and perhaps sand boarding.
