Overview of Purple Woods Conservation Area

Ages: 0 - Adult

Purple Woods Conservation Area is a 17-hectare conservation area in Ontario, Canada. It's located at 38 Coates Road East, Oshawa, ON. The area is a good place for hiking all year, with access to the Oak Ridges Trail and a view of the south. It has over 30 km of trails between the conservation areas. The weather is usually cooler and windier, with lots of sap in the mud. Sugar Shack (500 m) and accessible Discovery Walk (900 m) trails. Spring and fall migratory songbirds, summer Monarch butterflies, and beautiful fall colors make this conservation area an all-season destination. The Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) hosts an annual Purple Woods Maple Syrup Festival at the conservation area in March.
