Christian Youth Theater (CYT) Houston, a nonprofit after-school theater arts program for kids aged 5–18 ------ PROGRAMS ------ - Classes: Held in Fall, Winter, and Spring, these 9-week sessions (2 hours weekly) cover drama, voice, dance, and behind-the-scenes skills like makeup, costumes, and tech for ages 5–18. Classes are small, supervised, and end with a high-energy showcase for family and friends. - Productions: Students aged 8–18 enrolled in classes can audition for Broadway-style musicals. - Christian Youth Theater (CYT) produces 6–8 shows annually, including two fall, two spring, and one winter all-area show, plus a summer Christian Community Theater (CCT) production open to all ages at the Crighton Theater in Conroe. - Shows are family-friendly, with opportunities for non-performers to join backstage crews or technical teams. ------- CAMPS & CLASSES ------ - Summer Programs a)Day Camp (ages 5–12): A one-week musical theater camp with voice, dance, drama workshops, games, and a concluding showcase. b) Summer Stock (ages 8–15): A two-week intensive where students audition, rehearse, and perform a musical like Shrek JR. with two ticketed performances c) Backstage Ninjas (ages 13–18): A two-week workshop training teens in technical theater skills (e.g., stage crew, lighting) for a Summer Stock production d) Teen/Young Adult Summer Stock (ages 13–21): A two-week camp producing a full-length show like Singin’ in the Rain with four performances. e) Fractured Fairy Tales & Fun (ages 5–12): A one-week camp focusing on fairy tale-themed musical theater, building performance skills and confidence.
