Explorers are then taken for a thrilling drive in our 4×4’s to Fossil Rock for spectacular views and to learn a little more about why it is named “Fossil Rock”. Duration: 60 minutes LANDSCAPES EXCURSION IN A DUNE BUGGY* A one hour excursion involving exciting exploration of the dunes to reveal Camel Rock, a uniquely shaped mountain outcrop that has the shape of a camel’s head! Explorers are then taken for a thrilling drive up to Fossil Rock for a spectacular view and to learn a little more about why it is named “Fossil Rock”. *Not a self-drive buggy. Duration: 60 minutes Ages: Minimum age to take part in this activity is 8 years of age. Minimum height is 140cm. MLEIHA ARENA RIDE If you’re already a rider and prefer to ride in the arena, take a session in the arena where you can also enjoy the beauty of Fossil Rock and the Faya mountain range in the background. Duration: Up to 40 minutes Operating Hours: 9AM to sunset DESERT HACKS (Non-exclusive) Experience the beauty of Mleiha’s landscape on horseback, with views of Fossil Rock and Faya mountain. Even if you have never ridden a horse before, their expert guides will assist in leading you and your horse into the outback of Mleiha. End your experience with a stop at the luxurious gazebo at the stables, where you can enjoy the landscape with an assortment of hot beverages and soft drinks. Duration: Up to 60 minutes FOSSIL FUN EXPEDITION (Standard) Learn more about the geological history of this part of the UAE, about the animals that inhabited the sea seventy million years ago, touch and examine the fossils of the animals, learn how fossils are formed and take home your own copy of a fossil. Duration: 60 minutes FOSSIL FUN EXPEDITION (Premium) Be a paleontologist for the day and learn how to make fossil casts using actual fossils found in Mleiha and seashells from around the region. Get a chance to walk through several ages of ancient seabeds, the resting places of ancient creatures and Earth’s upper mantle. Read the history of the planet inscribed in the rocks. Duration: 90 minutes SOUNDS OF THE PAST Step back in time to understand the way our ancient ancestors made stone tools, visit the same area where they sat and made their tools 8,000 years ago and learn to make your own blade tool, just like they did. Dive into the solar system, explore impact cratering and engage in hands-on comet workshops and guided stargazing sessions. Duration: 3hrs PONY RIDE For the younger explorers not to miss out on the adventure, there is a gentle pony that would take children for rides around the arena. Step into an immersive exhibition showcasing an impressive array of artifacts meticulously unearthed from Mleiha's archaeological sites. As you wander through the exhibits, you'll trace the intricate tapestry of history, spanning from the Stone Age to the Iron Age, and gain a profound understanding of the region's cultural evolution. Duration: 40 minutes ARCHAEOLOGICAL TOUR Explore two late Iron Age sites by taking a guided tour of the palace and burial chambers. Additionally, enjoy a drive through other excavated locations before concluding with a walkthrough of the visitor center, where you can explore two late Iron Age sites. Duration: 90 minutes VALLEY OF THE CAVES TOUR Step back in time with the "Valley of the Caves Tour." Visit ancient caves once inhabited by Neolithic humans who crafted stone tools and laid their loved ones to rest. Led by an expert educator, this guided tour delves into the rich archaeological history of the area. Duration: 60 minutes STARGAZING (Non-exclusive) Enjoy a beautiful evening exploring the stars and planets. You can enjoy refreshments while the experienced guides share insights about celestial objects I.e Planets, stars, clusters, nebula and the moon.
