Today, the park features award winning floral gardens, a children’s play area, Court of Flags, walking trails, recreation and entertainment area all maintained by the city’s parks and recreation department. The waterfront park is a popular venue for numerous sporting events, concerts and festivals. Every winter the park is illuminated with thousands of colourful lights for the Celebration of Lights Christmas event.
