Step into a memorable adventure at the Brockville Railway Tunnel - Canada’s first railway tunnel, built in 1860. Located in Brockville, Ontario, this historic tunnel has been transformed into a glowing, immersive walk-through experience complete with colourful LED lights, music, and informative panels for children and adults to explore together. -------- OTHER INFO -------- LOCATION: At the base of Market Street West in downtown Brockville, Ontario, just steps from the waterfront and Blockhouse Island. SEASONAL HOURS: Open season (Fall, Spring, Summer) Daily 09:00 AM - 09:00PM including statutory holidays. ADMISSION: Free entry! Donations are encouraged via red bins at either end to support maintenance. DURATION: Most visitors spend about 20–30 minutes walking through Light & sound show: 90 minutes. ACCESSIBILITY: Gentle 1% slope inside; wheelchair‐accessible when entering from south entrance (north has steeper hill). WHAT TO WEAR: The tunnel can be damp and surfaces may be wet/slippery. Sturdy footwear with good traction is recommended; a hat, jacket or poncho might help.
