Main Ideas Studio is a bright and fun do-it-yourself (DIY) art studio based in Newmarket, Ontario, where families, kids and adults can drop in or book sessions to get creative together. The studio provides everything you need - workspace, paints, tools, guidance - and encourages people of all ages to come, pick a project, and make something unique.

KIDS CLASSES AND ACTIVITIES

- Hand-build with Clay:
Kids are guided through the basics of clay work and tools to create something both beautiful and functional.
- Clay Wheel Throwing
Children learn how a real potter’s wheel works, and with guidance they make their own basic bowl.
- Traditional Canvas Painting
This isn’t a simple “paint-along.” Kids are taught how to design one main focal point and then build an original composition around it, making each artwork unique.
- Ceramic Pottery Painting
Kids choose from a wide range of pre-cast ceramic pieces and paint them however they like, with some basic guidance from studio staff.
- Splatter Canvas Painting
The messiest and most energetic option: children design a background and then throw paint at their canvas to create dramatic splatter effects.

Booking & Policies
- A non-refundable deposit of $50 + tax is required to hold the date and time.
- Rescheduling may be possible once with at least 2 weeks’ notice. Cancelled parties lose their deposit.
- The event is primarily a drop-off party (limited spots for parents staying).
- Up to two parents may stay to assist (maximum 3 adults total). Additional adults must join a separate studio activity.
- Guest of Honour counts as part of the guest count. Final guest count must be confirmed 48 hours in advance.
Food, Decor & Other Details
Standard party area in the studio; you can bring your own decorations (within guidelines)
Please avoid confetti balloons, noisemakers, and open-beverage containers (closed containers only)
A recommended early time slot (10:00-11:45 am) is available for younger painters (<6 years) when parent attendance may be more flexible.
