The UAE is famous for its deserts, but make no mistake – there’s plenty of lush greenery to go around! With this cool weather and kiddos easily bored, what’s better than a day out in nature? If you’re wondering where to take the kids out in the capital, then look no further than this list because we’ve rounded up the best parks Abu Dhabi has to offer. Whether you’re a resident or a visitor, looking for fun activities or a place to wind down, these gorgeous parks have something for everyone.

Umm Al Emarat Park

Al Fay Park

An oasis in the middle of the city – that’s how we’d describe the newly minted Al Fay Park. The new green space is truly that, green in every sense of the word. Construction remained true to the local environment, with over 2,000 trees and shrubs exclusively native to the region. The landscaping and planting create a micro-climate that reduces traffic noise and temperature and maintains a forest-like environment. The downward slope from the road leads to the central park and funnels the cooler southern breeze down into the park while local grasses and bushes reduce sand infiltration and movement.

And it’s not just the environment of the park that’s worth mentioning. There are also activities for everyone – grownups and kiddos: Mini Golf, Table Tennis, Badminton, Football, Basketball, Skate Park and Climbing Wall, Track, Volleyball, Kids Play area, Fitness Area, Forest Paths.

And once you’ve worked up an appetite, you and the kids can grab a bite from one of the park’s food trucks and a enjoy a picnic-style meal at one of the outdoor seating areas. So make a day of it with the kiddos – Al Fay Park is the perfect choice for a fun family day out.
