Explore this history-filled palace, set on an area of approximately 190 acres (one of the largest royal palaces). The "Dome Palace" or "Qasr el Qobba" is named after an old building from the Mamluk era known as the Dome Building, where it was surrounded by a water lake that was the destination of many children of large families and the upper class at the time for hunting and hiking.
It was built over the span of 6 years, during the reign of Khedive “Ismail” on the ruins of an old house of his father, Ibrahim Pasha. The palace gardens are still home to a rare collection of trees and plants dating back to the reign of Khedive Ismail.
