Ages: 2 - Adult

The S.P.A.C.E. (The School of Performing Arts for the Community of East York) is a full performing arts centre, also a community-based organization that offers performing arts classes and programs for children and youth in East York. They provide training in various disciplines, including dance, drama, and music. ---- PROGRAMS ---- A) Classes - Acting Classes: Junior Acting class is for kids aged 9 – 11yrs. Senior Acting is for students 12 years of age or older. - Musical Theatre classes to further the development of your skills. Dress comfortably – a leotard or close fitting T–shirt with a pair of sweat pants is ideal, a pair of indoor–use shoes to wear in the studio. hair should be tied back off the face, and jewellery removed. You’ll be given a folder to keep scripts in; please bring it with you to each class. - Ballet /Jazz / Hip Hop/Tap Dances Classes These dance classes is for boys and girls aged 6–18, with a separate class for adults. Written approval required for pointe; please do not register for pointe without this letter (new students with sufficient ballet training will be assessed in class) - Creative Movement: For boys and girls 3 to 5 years old who are ready for a class on their own, and who are out of diapers. - Parents Plus! Baby and Tot Classes: Parents + Babies is for babies under 18 months of age. Activities are modified for babies of varying ages. Parents + Tots is for toddlers from 18 months to 3 years old. Moms and Dads of any age may participate, as well as grandparents or other caregivers. - Stretch class is open to teens and adult. - Vocal Classes: For the serious singer with aspirations of performing, or for anyone who enjoys singing. Age 6 to adult. Students need to have the discipline and the focus for a one on one class, and since much of the work to memorize their piece must be done at home, B) Camps March Break Camp: Musical Theatre Camp runs Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm, with extended care offered from 8am to 6pm. Children 6 -12 years old are invited to join us for a week of singing, dancing, and acting in small classes taught by dedicated professionals. Camp is limited to 12 campers. Summer Camp: The SPACE offers a variety of camps for all ages and skill levels, so whatever your level of experience, there is a camp for you. Dance Camps/Muscial Theatre Camps (ages 6-12 yrs), Teen Intensives (ages 12-18) $2 TUESDAYS Check out a new class with $2 Tuesdays!
