Best Places To Go For A Walk In Dubai

Dubai is more than just towering skyscrapers and luxury shopping. The city offers plenty of peaceful and scenic walking spots that are perfect for enjoying the outdoors. Whether you’re looking for a place to unwind, get in some light exercise, or enjoy a walk with the kids, there’s a location that suits every pace and preference. Here’s a guide to the best places to go for a walk in Dubai — ideal for families, fitness lovers, or anyone in need of a refreshing stroll.

The weather these days is just what we'd call 'perfect walking weather'. It's sunny, but not uncomfortably so, and the light breeze makes being outdoors like a breath of fresh air - quite literally. So to make use of this gorgeous season we're having, and since being outdoors is always a good boost for the immune system, we've lined up some of the best places to go for a walk in Dubai. From Historical neighborhoods to cool promenades, anywhere you go for a stroll, you're in for a great time out.

Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood

Delve into Dubai's old way of life in one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. Best seen walking, this area offers a nostalgic tour around traditional wind towers and a maze of twisting alleyways. Everywhere you walk, you'll be met with a piece of culture and history, so you and the kiddos are really taking a stroll down memory lane. You and the kids can also do some shopping at the souk, or hop on an abra for a taste of traditional water transport.

Also, visit the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding where you and your family can take part in heritage tours and guided mosque visits to better appreciate the local culture.

Creek Marina at Dubai Creek Harbour

Spend your early mornings or golden afternoons at this gorgeous promenade where you and your kiddies can explore the various quirky photo-op installations and snap some awesome memories.

The views of Creek Harbour are enough to entice you to head down there, but the Creek Play installation will keep you and the kiddos going back. The installation runs the length of the promenade and is made up of seven pods, each representing an element of the seven Emirates' heritage and architectural flavours. Both grown-ups and kids can pop in and out, playing in the pod or soaking up the views. If that's not motivation enough to go for a walk along the Harbour, we don't know what is!

And when you're starting to feel peckish, you can pop in to one of the many restaurants along the marina.

Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk

The Boardwalk runs for the entire curve of the outer front of The Palm, and is a pedestrian-only haven - no cyclers here. As you and the kiddos walk along taking in the view and fresh air, you're met with cafes, food trucks and souvenir kiosks. So if you're in the mood for a slow-paced day out with the kids, a stroll and bite at the Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk is always a good idea.

Love Lake Dubai

Take a trip to the desert and check out a man-made lake in the shape of two intertwined hearts. The word LOVE is spelled out in trees right in front of it, making for a perfect spot to spend some time with your loved ones.

Once you're there, you'll want to walk around and explore the greenery in the middle of the desert. Everywhere you go you'll be met with gorgeous flora, almost all trimmed in the shape of hearts. Even the rockery and walls are heart shaped! If you're looking to connect with nature, take your kiddos exploring somewhere unique, and in the mood to slow down and take in your surroundings - then this is place.

So make a trip down to Love Lake; take a long stroll, watch the colourful fish, snap wonderful shots at cute and quirky nature props, and even have a family picnic!
