Let’s have some fun for a little less…

Whenever September comes around, we can get quite budget-conscious especially with everything we need to spend on the new school term. So if you’re like us and trying to stick to the #NoSpendSeptember challenge, we’ve got a few ideas on what you can get up to with the kids without having to dig too deep into your pockets.

1. Play for a dirham

Every Monday, Fun City has an offer that is bound to brighten your day: AED 1 for all the BLUE swiper rides and video games, each. At such a low price and all year long, everyone can enjoy this go-to family entertainment center much more.

All Fun City locations, Mondays from 10am, AED 1 per blue-swiper ride, more info

2. Make it a board game night

Get your game on and bond with your loved ones over some board games. Unwind gives you access to over 500 board games with highly skilled Game Masters who are there to help you and your family select and learn. And if you need to re-fuel between matches, the café has a full menu of yummy options.

Unwind Café, Sun-Wed 10am to 11pm, Thu-Sat until midnight, starting from AED 21/hr, more info

3. Explore with your little ones

Explore a range of exhibits and programmes on space exploration, nature, science, the human body and local and international culture and let your boys and girls investigate, play and discover the world we live in.

4. Meet some new furry friends

Housing hippos, flamingos, reptiles and over 1,400 wild animals and pets, this zoo and resort is a perfect way to spend the day as a family – and a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the animal world.

5. Get jumpin'

Learn the basics or show off your acrobatic skills at Just Play’s free jump area. You and the kiddies can even get dunking by the basketball hoops or have a friendly match over at the dodgeball park.
