1. Make Colour-Changing Milk
Turn trash into treasures for hours on end using an item as simple as a paper towel roll.
--WHAT YOU'LL NEED--
Toilet paper rolls
Construction paper
Glue/hot glue gun
Skewers
--STEP 1--
Wrap the paper towel roll in construction paper, securing it with hot glue.
--STEP 2--
Draw regal-looking windows and doors on the roll to construct the base of your soon-to-be castle tower.
--STEP 3--
Wrap washi tape around a skewer and cut small triangles in the tape to create flags.
--STEP 4--
Trace the base of a small bowl on paper to create a circle. Cut the shape out. Cut a triangle into the circle and form the paper into a cone shape.
--STEP 5--
Slide the cone onto the top of the roll to give your tower a roof. Now it’s time to move the King and Queen into their new abode.

3. Balloon Tennis
Also known as "paper plates tennis", this is a low-cost way of keeping your kiddies engaged in fun, light sports at home.

A balloon
Paper plates
Tape
Plastic spoon/empty kitchen roll
String
Markers/watercolours (optional)
--STEP 1--
Assemble your tennis rackets by taping a plastic spoon or empty kitchen roll to the back of your paper plate. For added fun, have your kids customize their rackets by drawing or painting on them first.
--STEP 2--
Set up a mini court. Get two chairs and stand them at a decent distance from each other. Then tie a string from one chair to the other, keeping it leveled.
--STEP 3--
Stand on one side of the string while your child stands on the other and start the match!

4. Cardboard Box Basketball
Up-cycle your cardboard boxes to make your very own basketball game that rolls your balls right back to you!

Cardboard box
Plastic balls (or crumpled paper balls)

Cut the flaps off the top of the box.
--STEP 2--

Use the cardboard flaps to build a little ramp inside the box for the balls to roll down. Easy!

Getting the family together for some fun games doesn't have to be a hassle. All you need is some enthusiasm and a few things lying around the house.

Paper cups
Timer
--STEP 1--
Have the paper cups ready by your side. Then give the player one minute to stack them end to end as high as they can without the tower tipping over.
--STEP 2--
When the minute is up, count the cups stacked and make a note. After everyone's had a turn, whoever had the most cups, wins!

6. Get Rid of the Balls
Spend hours having a good laugh with your little ones as you aim to get as many balls on your opponents side. All you need is a sheet that acts as a net, and you've got a court set up inside your living room.
--WHAT YOU'LL NEED--
Two Chairs
Large Sheet
Plastic balls (or crumpled paper balls)
--STEP 1--
Create a line between the two sides of the playing field by stretching a large sheet across two chairs.
--STEP 2--
Try to get all the balls over the sheet and into the other player’s side. Meanwhile, your opponent is trying to dump all the balls back onto your side.
There is not really ever a winner, but you're bound to have a good laugh!
