The Stouffville Skating Club is a non-profit, community-based organization that has offered skating instruction in the Town of Stouffville since 1951. We are governed entirely by a dedicated group of volunteers and are Skate Canada sanctioned and certified. A growing club, we now have over 450 skaters in our programs. ------------------- PROGRAMS ------------------- A) PreCanSkate - (3-4 yrs) - New this year Precan will be offered during Canskate on the 4 Saturday sessions B) CanSkate -(5-12 yrs) -designed for all beginner skaters age 5 to 12 the focus is on fun, participation and basic skill development. - All lessons are taught in a group lesson format. All classes are 50 minutes in length once per week. C)Intro to Starskate (Figure Skating) - Once your skater has passed CanSkate Badge 4 they will qualify for our Intro to Starskate Session. Starskate is Skate Canada's Figure Skating program. - Please contact the club for more information if your skater is interested in Figure Skating. D) Adult/Teen Learn to Skate ( 13+ yrs) - The Adult (Teen) Learn to Skate program teaches the fundamentals of skating required for recreational skating/hockey. ---------------- GENERAL POLICIES ---------------- - CSA APPROVED HOCKEY HELMETS ARE MANDATORY - Parents are not allowed on the ice. It is mandatory that parents stay at the arena for children under the age of 11. - Please ensure that skaters are dressed appropriately. Snowpants or Long johns, or pyjamas under warm track pants, a warm jacket and mittens should suffice.
