Black Creek Pioneer Village is a department of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. Black Creek Pioneer Village helps people apply the history of life in the Toronto region to build a better future in their own communities. ------- PROGRAMS -------- A) Weekend Self-Guided Visits: On weekends, encounter costumed staff at outdoor discovery stations and inside heritage buildings. Discovery Stations are included in the General Admission fee. B) - On weekdays, take a 50-minute tour of the heritage Village with a costumed educator as your guide. ------ WHAT TO EXPECT ------ - Stroll through the heritage gardens, meet the farm animals, wander through the heritage buildings, and visit the gift shop! - Encounter costumed educators at Discovery Stations located outside in the Village’s greenspaces and inside selected heritage buildings. - Outdoor Camps: Explore Black Creek Pioneer Village and take part in some classic summer camp activities! - First Saturdays: Visit with Indigenous and other equity-deserving artists at the Village on the first Saturday of the month. ------- EXPLORE & DISCOVER ------- - How people farmed in early Ontario and learn all about the important role that animals played in everyday life. - Heritage breeds, including Cochin chickens, Border Leicester sheep, and the ever-popular Clydesdale horses. - From everyday household items to exquisitely crafted period furniture, varied collections of authentic 19th-century artifacts
