The Richmond Hill Heritage Centre is a Regency-style cottage in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. It opened in 1840 and is located at 19 Church Street North. The Heritage Centre is also a venue for special celebrations The center offers a Discovery Tour, which includes: - Learning about the history of Richmond Hill. - Learning about the 1840s Regency-style house and its original owner, Amos Wright. - Asking questions - Independent gallery viewing -------- MUSEUM OF THE STREETS TOUR --------- - Richmond Hill's Museum of the Streets is a free, self-guided tour of this community's heritage sites. Green and tan signs will guide you through the streets of Old Richmond Hill. You can choose how many stops you visit and how much time you spend at each one. The tour will take you to some of our most interesting heritage sites. The tour starts at the Richmond Hill Heritage Centre, Amos Wright Park ------- WALK & LEARN: Historical Tours ------- The Outdoor Walk and Learn Tours are back for Spring 2024! Enjoy the fresh air, exercise, and a healthy walk through a historic building, neighborhood, or park while discovering your community heritage! All Walk and Learn tours run rain or shine. Please wear appropriate attire for walking and the outdoors. ------- BIRTHDAY PARTIES ------- - Victorian Tea Party Guests, ages 5 to 12, will enjoy making a calling card and potpourri sachet. Learn interesting facts about the Victorian time, including proper etiquette for young ladies and gentlemen of the era. Complete your party with a traditional afternoon tea, enjoying finger sandwiches, cookies, and a secret "fairy tea". The Victorian Tea Party package includes: - Up to 18 guests (10 children included, $15.99 for each additional child, maximum 15 children). - One-hour craft time hosted by a skilled instructor - Gallery tour - A take-home craft for each child (potpourri and calling cards). - One hour use of the Gardenview Room - Traditional Victorian Tea with finger sandwiches, cookies, and secret "fairy tea" - Victorian Parlour Party Guests, ages 5 to 12, will enjoy making a calling card, and potpourri sachet. Learn interesting facts about the Victorian time, including proper etiquette for young ladies and gentlemen of the era. The Victorian Parlour Party package includes: - Up to 18 guests (10 children included, $9.32 for each additional child, maximum 15 children) - One-hour craft time hosted by a skilled instructor - Gallery tour - A take-home craft for each child (potpourri and calling cards) - One hour use of the Gardenview Room, unstaffed for party celebrations ------ SUMMER CAMPS ------ Summer Camp at the Heritage Centre offers a unique experience for your child in a smaller setting. Children will enjoy hands on activities, games and interactive experiences in our galleries learning about the community and more. ------- AFTERNOON TEAS ------- Enjoy popular afternoon teas at the Heritage Centre surrounded by history in our Gardenview Room and galleries! At each tea, guests are treated to a selection of dainty sandwiches, scones served with our special heritage cream and preserves, and sweet treats prepared especially for the occasion.
